The Path to Success
Success Is Not What You Think
Have you ever felt like you’re falling behind because you don’t have the house, the car, or the career that others seem to flaunt? That pressure is real. Culture tells us success is about money, titles, or recognition. Yet no matter how hard we chase these things, they leave us empty.
But here’s the good news. Jesus redefines success in a way that is life-giving, lasting, and available to everyone. That’s what makes His definition different.
What Jesus Says About Success
In Luke 16:10, Jesus says, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” With this teaching, He flips the world’s idea of success upside down.
Instead of measuring success by wealth or accomplishments, Jesus points us to character. He values honesty, faithfulness, and integrity more than possessions or status. While the world asks, “What have you achieved?” Jesus asks, “How have you lived?”
Why Faithfulness Matters
Think about the small decisions you make each day. Do you show up on time? Do you keep your promises? Do you treat people with kindness even when no one is watching?
These small acts may not seem like much, but over time they shape your character. A pattern of honesty and faithfulness builds trust with others and deepens your walk with God. On the other hand, ignoring the “little things” weakens integrity.
This is why Jesus connects the small to the big. If you’re faithful in little, God knows He can trust you with more.
A Story That Hits Home
I once knew a man who dreamed of leading a large ministry. But for years, his only responsibility was setting up chairs before Sunday service. At first, he felt overlooked. But he stayed faithful. Week after week, he showed up, prayed over each chair, and served with joy.
Years later, God opened doors for him to lead a Bible study, then a church, and eventually a global mission. His path to success didn’t start with a spotlight. It started with faithfulness in the small things.
What This Means for You
If you’ve been asking God for “more”—more opportunities, more influence, more success, stop and look at what’s already in your hands. Are you being faithful with your time, your relationships, your job, and your resources?
God doesn’t overlook your small acts of obedience. In fact, they are the very things that prepare you for bigger assignments.
How to Walk the Path to Success
-
Start small. Choose one area of life where you can be more consistent.
-
Be trustworthy. Keep your word even in little promises.
-
Use what you have. Instead of waiting for “more,” invest what’s already in your hands.
-
Pray for character. Ask God to shape you into a person who reflects His faithfulness.

So, instead of chasing what the world calls success, chase faithfulness. That is the true path to success in God’s eyes.
