Leave Babylon and Come to the Truth

The Call to Leave Babylon

There is an old song that says, “Leave Babylon and come.” Its message is simple, yet powerful. It warns us not to fear the opinions of friends or the laughter of the crowd. People may mock you. They may scorn you. Yet, the call remains the same—leave Babylon.

In the book of Revelation, Babylon is called “Mystery Babylon the Great.” She is described as the mother of spiritual corruption that has polluted the world through false teaching, compromise, and spiritual fornication. Babylon represents a system that looks religious but denies truth. It offers comfort without repentance and grace without obedience. God’s message is urgent: Come out of her, My people.

Understanding Who God Truly Is

To leave Babylon, we must first understand who God really is. The Bible is clear. God is a Spirit. There is one God and Father of us all, not many gods divided into parts. He is one eternal Spirit, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.

God Himself declares, “Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me.” He says plainly, “Beside Me there is no God.” This truth cannot be changed, no matter how popular opinions from the streets or traditions of men may become.

God also says, “Look unto Me, all the ends of the earth, and be saved; for I am God, and beside Me there is no Savior.” If there is no Savior besides God, then we must ask an important question, who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ: God Manifested in the Flesh

The Bible answers clearly. First Timothy 3:16 declares that God was manifested in the flesh. Jesus Christ was not a second person beside God. He was God Himself revealed in human form.

John chapter 1 tells us that Jesus was in the world, and the world was made by Him, yet the world did not recognize Him. He came to His own, and His own received Him not. However, as many as received Him were given the power to become the sons of God.

Jesus was not merely a prophet or teacher. He was the Creator clothed in flesh, walking among His creation to redeem it.

The Keys of the Kingdom Given to Peter

Jesus gave Peter the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, and Peter used those keys on the Day of Pentecost. In Acts chapter 2, Peter preached the first gospel message of the New Testament church.

This message fulfilled Jesus’ commands found in Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Luke 24:45–50, and John 20. When the people asked what they must do to be saved, Peter answered with clarity and authority.

He said they must repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This was not Peter’s opinion. It was heaven’s plan of salvation.

The Promise Is Still for Today

Peter went on to declare that this promise was not limited to that generation. He said the promise is to you, to your children, and to all who are afar off, including the Gentiles. That means the message of Acts 2:38 is still valid today.

The book of Acts is the only historical record of the early church. It shows us what the apostles taught and what sinners practiced to begin their journey from sin to eternal life. There is no other pattern given.

Leaving Babylon and Walking in Truth

Babylon offers religion without transformation. Truth offers salvation with power. Leaving Babylon means leaving false doctrine, confusion, and compromise. It means embracing biblical repentance, baptism in Jesus’ name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

This journey is not always easy. You may lose approval. You may face ridicule. Yet, you gain something far greater, truth, freedom, and eternal life.

So hear the call today. Leave Babylon. Come to the truth. And be saved.
