The Book of Acts: The Foundation of the New Testament Church
The Book of Acts of the Apostles stands as the only historical record of the early church in the New Testament. It documents how the followers of Jesus Christ carried out His final command, to take the gospel from Jerusalem to Samaria, to the uttermost parts of the earth, to every creature, to all nations, and to the entire world.
This book does not present opinions, traditions, or philosophies. Instead, it reveals the divine pattern God established for salvation, church growth, and spiritual transformation. Acts is not merely a story of people; it is a record of God’s power working through obedient believers.
God’s Global Mission Begins in Jerusalem
In Acts 1:8, Jesus gives clear direction:
“You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
This command outlines the gospel’s spiritual expansion. It begins locally and moves globally. The church was never meant to remain confined to one city, one culture, or one people group. Instead, God designed it to reach every nation and every soul.
Jerusalem became the starting point, not the final destination.
Peter and the Keys of the Kingdom
In Acts chapter 2, we see the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise. The Holy Ghost falls, the church is born, and the Apostle Peter, who was given the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, stands and preaches the gospel in its purest and simplest form.
Peter did not preach tradition.
Peter did not preach theology schools.
Peter did not preach religious systems.
He preached truth.
He declared the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, revealing that Jesus is not merely a man, but God manifested in the flesh. His message pierced the hearts of the people. The crowd, devout Jewish men from many nations, were convicted and cried out, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
This question changed history.
The Gospel Response: Repentance, Baptism, and the Holy Ghost
In Acts 2:38, Peter gives the divine response, the keys to entering the Kingdom of God:
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
This is not a suggestion.
This is not symbolism.
This is not optional.
This is obedience-based salvation.
Repentance brings spiritual death to the old life.
Baptism in Jesus’ name brings burial and remission of sins.
The Holy Ghost brings resurrection and new life.
Together, they form the full gospel pattern.
The Promise Is for Everyone
Peter continues by declaring:
“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
This promise was not limited to Jews.
It was not limited to one generation.
It was not limited to one culture.
It was for everyone, then and now.
He also warns the people to “save yourselves from this untoward generation,” showing that separation from sin, corruption, and rebellion is required for salvation.
The Apostles’ Doctrine: The True Foundation of the Church
This message became known as the Apostles’ Doctrine, also called the Doctrine of Christ, the Doctrine of God, and the true Doctrine of the Church.
It was the original foundation.
It was the divine blueprint.
It was the heaven-approved model.
Sadly, over the years, many churches abandoned this foundation and replaced it with traditions, religious systems, and human philosophies. But God has never changed His plan of salvation.
What was true in Acts is still true today.
Salvation Is Still Obedience-Based
Jesus Himself said in Mark 16:16:
“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Belief alone is not enough.
Faith must produce obedience.
Obedience unlocks salvation.
What Peter established on earth is established in heaven.
What is bound on earth is bound in heaven.
What is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven.
Those who obey the gospel are loosed from sin and made ready to receive eternal life.
A Call to Return to the Original Gospel
The modern church must return to the foundation of Acts. We must return to repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. We must return to truth, power, holiness, and obedience.
Salvation is not found in religion.
Salvation is not found in tradition.
Salvation is found in obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The keys are still available.
The door is still open.
The invitation is still extended.
The question is simple:
Will you obey?

You really make it appear really easy with your presentation but I to find this matter to be really something which I believe I might never understand. It sort of feels too complex and very huge for me. I’m looking forward for your next put up, I will try to get the hold of it!
