The Gospel That the World Calls Foolish

The message of the gospel has always divided opinions. Some people embrace it with humility and faith, while others reject it as foolishness. Yet the truth remains the same: the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is the power that brings salvation, hope, and eternal life.

For centuries, people have debated its meaning. Some see it as a stumbling block, while others see it as wisdom beyond human understanding. Nevertheless, the gospel continues to change lives because it reveals the love, sacrifice, and victory of the Lord Jesus.

This message is simple, yet powerful. It teaches us how the Lord Jesus overcame sin and death so that humanity could receive forgiveness and eternal life.

A Message That Challenges the World

The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ has always challenged human thinking. To many of the Jews in ancient times, the message of a crucified Savior was a stumbling block. Meanwhile, to the Greeks, who valued philosophy and intellectual reasoning, it seemed like foolishness.

However, what appears foolish to human wisdom often reveals the greatest truth.

The gospel declares that salvation does not come through human intelligence, wealth, or philosophy. Instead, it comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and through His sacrifice.

While scholars may debate and philosophers may question, the gospel continues to transform hearts. It brings peace to the troubled, hope to the broken, and forgiveness to those who repent.

The Love Revealed Through Sacrifice

At the center of the gospel is love.

The Lord Jesus demonstrated this love in the most powerful way possible, by laying down His life for humanity. Through His sacrifice, He showed us how to live: with kindness, compassion, and humility.

Because of His example, believers are called to:

  • Bear one another’s burdens

  • Show mercy and forgiveness

  • Love one another as the Lord Jesus loved us

This love is not merely an idea or emotion. It is action. It is sacrifice. It is the willingness to care for others even when it is difficult.

The gospel reveals that the Lord Jesus gave His life so that humanity could be restored and reconciled.

Why the Lord Jesus Became Flesh

The scriptures teach that the Lord Jesus is Spirit—the invisible Word filled with all wisdom and power, the One through whom everything was created.

However, there was a problem humanity could not solve on its own.

Sin entered the world, and with sin came death. Death is not simply the end of life; it represents separation from the Spirit.

The scripture explains that the life of the flesh is in the blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.

Because Spirit has no blood, the Lord Jesus took on human form. He came as a servant and lived among the children of humanity. In doing so, He was able to experience death on behalf of mankind.

Through this act, He carried the sins of the world in His own body.

Victory Over Death Through Resurrection

The story of the gospel does not end with death.

In fact, death was not the final chapter, it was the doorway to victory.

The Lord Jesus conquered death through resurrection. By rising again, He proved that sin and death do not have the final word.

His resurrection offers humanity a new promise: eternal life.

Through the good news of His victory, the Lord Jesus invites people everywhere to receive forgiveness and restoration. Those who believe in Him are given hope beyond the grave and the promise of a kingdom that will never fade.

The Call to Respond

When the gospel was first preached in Jerusalem, the people who heard it were deeply convicted. They asked a powerful question:

What shall we do?”

The apostle Peter gave a clear answer.

He instructed the people to repent, which means turning away from sin and turning toward the Lord Jesus with sincere faith.

They were also called to be baptized in His name for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, the seal of eternal life.

This message remains the same today.

Those who believe and are baptized will be saved and preserved for the kingdom of heaven. However, those who reject the message turn away from the salvation that the Lord Jesus freely offers.

The Choice Before Every Person

Many intellectuals and cultural elites still dismiss the gospel as foolishness. Yet despite centuries of criticism, no one has produced a better message of hope, forgiveness, and eternal life.

The gospel presents a simple invitation:

Believe.
Obey.
Live.

Through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, people can receive forgiveness, freedom from sin, and the promise of eternal life in the kingdom He is preparing.

The choice remains open to every person who hears this message.
