Justified by Faith, How the Lord Jesus Christ Makes Us Right With Him

The Problem Many Believers Quietly Carry

First, many people live with a quiet fear deep in their hearts. They wonder if they have done enough to be accepted by the Lord Jesus Christ. They try harder, pray longer, and work more, yet they still feel uncertain.

However, the message in the book of Epistle to the Romans answers this painful question with surprising clarity.

For years, I have studied and taught the message of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through that study, one truth becomes clear again and again: salvation does not come from our effort. Instead, it comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, in this article we will explore three important truths:

  • Why people cannot save themselves

  • What it means to be justified by faith

  • How faith in the Lord Jesus Christ changes our lives today

By the end, you will understand why the message of justification by faith brings deep peace and lasting hope.

The Problem: Trying to Earn Salvation

First, many people believe they must earn their way to heaven. Therefore, they try to balance their good deeds against their mistakes.

For example, imagine a man named David. He volunteers at church. He helps his neighbors. He gives to charity. Yet, at night he still wonders if it is enough.

Sadly, many believers live the same way.

However, the apostle Paul the Apostle wrote something that changes everything.

He explains in the Epistle to the Romans that no person becomes righteous by their own works. Instead, every person falls short of the righteousness required.

Consequently, this truth reveals a serious problem. If salvation depends on human effort, then no one could ever be saved.

Yet thankfully, the Gospel provides a powerful solution.

The Good News: Justified by Faith

Next, the Gospel reveals the heart of the message. We are justified by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

But what does the word justified really mean?

Simply put, justification means being declared righteous. It means the Lord Jesus Christ looks at a believer and declares them innocent.

Importantly, this does not happen because we are perfect. Instead, it happens because of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When the Lord Jesus Christ gave His life, He paid the price for sin once and for all. Therefore, anyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness and new life.

As a result, faith becomes the doorway into salvation.

In other words:

  • We do not earn salvation.

  • We receive salvation through faith.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ gives salvation by grace.

Because of this truth, believers experience peace with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Peace With the Lord Jesus Christ

Before faith, people live separated from the Lord Jesus Christ. They follow their own desires and rely on their own strength.

However, faith changes everything.

When a person trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ, they enter a new relationship with Him. Instead of fear, they receive peace.

For instance, think of a courtroom scene. A guilty person stands before the judge. The evidence proves their guilt.

Suddenly, someone steps forward and pays the full penalty for them.

At that moment, the judge declares the person free.

Likewise, that is exactly what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for believers.

Therefore, justification by faith means:

  • Our sins are forgiven

  • Our relationship is restored

  • Our future becomes secure

Because of this, believers can approach the Lord Jesus Christ with confidence and gratitude.

Becoming Children of the Lord Jesus Christ

Furthermore, justification leads to something even greater.

Through faith, believers become children of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This relationship is deeply personal. It means we are welcomed into His family.

For example, a child does not earn their place in a family. Instead, they belong because they are loved.

Similarly, believers belong to the Lord Jesus Christ because of His grace.

Consequently, this truth removes all pride.

No one can boast about salvation. Every believer stands on the same foundation: faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

How Justification by Faith Changes Daily Life

Now, this truth is not just theology. Instead, it transforms everyday life.

When believers understand justification by faith, three things happen.

1. Fear Turns Into Peace

First, believers stop living in fear of rejection. They know the Lord Jesus Christ has already accepted them.

2. Pride Turns Into Gratitude

Second, believers stop boasting in their own works. Instead, they thank the Lord Jesus Christ for His grace.

3. Striving Turns Into Trust

Finally, believers stop trying to earn salvation. Instead, they grow in faith and trust.

Because of this transformation, the Gospel becomes a message of freedom.

A Simple Reflection

Therefore, take a moment today to reflect on this question.

Are you trusting in your own efforts, or are you trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ?

Justification by faith reminds us that salvation is not a reward for good behavior. Instead, it is a gift received through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
