When Strength Runs Out
You smile. You work hard. You keep going.
But deep down, you’re tired. Not just physically exhausted, but also soul tired.
Maybe no one else sees it, but you feel it.
You’re doing everything you can, yet nothing seems to work.
You’ve whispered to yourself, “I can’t keep doing this.”
I get it. I’ve been there too.
As a Christian writer and speaker, I’ve walked through burnout, disappointment, and self-reliance that led nowhere.
But I also discovered something life-changing: the moment I admitted I was desperate for God was the moment everything began to change.
Why Self-Sufficiency Isn’t the Solution
So many of us fall into the trap of trying to “do it all.”
We read productivity books, set alarms, hustle harder, and even try to “pray better.”
But here’s the truth:
You and I weren’t made to carry everything.
We were made to depend on Someone greater.
Scripture says it best:
“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”
(1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV)
We often seek strength from within.
But God invites us to seek it from Him continually.
A Story You Might Relate To
I once thought I had it all together.
My to-do lists were color-coded. I prayed, served, and smiled.
But inside, I was running on fumes.
One morning, I dropped to my knees, not out of routine, but out of desperation.
I told God, “I can’t do this without You.”
In that quiet space, He didn’t shame me.
He met me.
From that day on, I realized I didn’t need more strength, I needed His strength.
That changed everything.
What Happens When We Seek God
When we choose desperation for God over confidence in ourselves:
-
We trade anxiety for peace
-
Weakness becomes strength
-
Control becomes surrender
-
Exhaustion becomes rest
His presence is the source of our power.
You might be wondering, How do I seek God’s presence continually?
Here’s a simple roadmap:
3 Simple Ways to Stay Connected to God
1. Talk to Him Often
Not just in long, formal prayers. Talk to Him as you would a friend.
Say, “Lord, help me with this meeting,” or “God, I’m feeling low right now.”
2. Prioritize Him Daily
Start with 5 minutes. Open your Bible. Read one verse. Meditate on it.
Ask, “Lord, what are You showing me today?”
3. Humble Yourself Every Morning
Say this out loud:
“God, I don’t want to rely on my own strength. I need Yours.”
When we come to Him in humility, He meets us in power.

Your Invitation to Dependence

So, what will you do today?
Will you keep pushing on your own?
Or will you come to Him in your weakness?
Because the truth is:
You don’t need to have it all together.
You just need to be desperate for Him.
Final Thought
We are not meant to live independently from our Creator.
Like lungs need oxygen, we need His Spirit.
Like soil needs water, we need His Word.
Like children need love, we need His presence.
You were never meant to “handle it all.”
You were created to seek Him continually.
🙏 Let’s Pray Together
“Jeshua, I come to You not with strength, but with need.
Help me see how much I depend on You.
Fill me with Your presence. Let Your strength be mine today. Amen.”
