Have You Been Wondering If God Still Cares?
You’re not alone. Many people today feel disappointed with life, even Christians. Maybe you’re struggling to understand your purpose. Or perhaps you’ve made mistakes and wonder if God could still forgive you. I’ve been there too. But what changed everything was one powerful truth: the goodness of God leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4).
As a Christian writer and Bible teacher, I’ve seen lives transformed, not by fear or guilt, but by God’s kindness. In this blog, I’ll show you what God’s goodness really means, how it brings change, and why serving Jeshua (Jesus) brings peace, purpose, and joy. You’ll walk away with a renewed perspective and a heart encouraged to follow Him.
God’s Goodness Is Not What You Think
At first glance, God’s goodness can seem distant or abstract. But in reality, it’s deeply personal.
Let me tell you about a woman I once met at a recovery ministry. Her name was Sarah. She had battled addiction and broken relationships. She thought God was angry with her. But over time, through the kindness of believers and the truth of Scripture, she realized God wasn’t out to punish her; He wanted to heal her. It wasn’t wrath that drew her to repentance. It was God’s goodness.
Romans 2:4 (KJV) says, “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?” This verse paints a beautiful picture. God waits for us. He offers mercy. He pours out kindness, hoping we’ll turn to Him.
That’s real love. Not manipulation. Not condemnation. Just goodness.
Why God’s Goodness Leads to Repentance
So why does kindness change us?
First, it breaks down walls. When someone truly loves you, despite your flaws, it softens your heart. You stop running. You turn around. That’s what repentance is turning from sin and toward God.
Second, it reminds us we are valuable. God’s patience shows that we matter to Him. He doesn’t give up. He gives time. He gives grace.
Lastly, His forbearance gives us space to grow. He doesn’t demand perfection. Instead, He offers transformation. And through that, we experience true repentance not out of shame, but out of gratitude.
The Real Benefits of Salvation
What happens when we receive God’s goodness and repent?
A lot more than people think.
Here are three life-changing benefits of salvation:
1. Peace that Passes Understanding
Before salvation, life feels unstable. We try to earn love, chase pleasure, or numb pain. But through Jeshua, we find lasting peace. Philippians 4:7 calls it a peace that “passes all understanding.” It’s real, unshakable peace, even when life is hard.
When we receive salvation, the Holy Spirit begins healing our hearts. Old wounds, bitter memories, and broken thinking get restored. Just like Sarah, we begin to walk in freedom.
3. A New Purpose
We’re not just saved from something, we’re saved for something. Serving Jeshua gives our lives purpose. We become part of something bigger. We impact others. We live with joy.
How Serving Jesus Makes Life Better
Many wonder, “Why serve God?” Here’s the answer: because He changes us for the better.
Serving Jeshua isn’t about rules. It’s about relationship. You begin to see life differently. Your decisions become rooted in love and wisdom. Your days have meaning. Even in suffering, you know you’re never alone.
Here’s another example. A man named Luis once told me, “Before Christ, I was angry, selfish, and lost. But now, I have peace. I wake up grateful. I’m not perfect—but I’m changed.” That’s what serving Jeshua does. It doesn’t make life perfect. It makes it better. Richer. Fuller. Eternal.
