There Is More Than What You Can See: Finding Hope in the Unseen Power of the Lord Jesus Christ

When Life Feels Like There’s Nothing Left

At first, life can feel limited to what we see. Bills pile up. Pain shows up. And uncertainty surrounds us. Because of that, many people quietly ask a difficult question: Is this all there is?

However, after years of studying Scripture and teaching Christian encouragement through faith-based content, I have learned something powerful. Life is not limited to what our eyes can see. Instead, the Bible reveals a deeper reality, one that brings hope, peace, and purpose.

Therefore, in this article, we will explore a life-changing truth: there is more beyond what we see. We will also examine how the Lord Jesus Christ, our Everlasting Father, created both the visible and invisible world. Finally, we will discover how trusting Him helps us endure trials and live with unshakable hope.

So if you feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or spiritually tired, keep reading. Because there is more waiting for you than what meets the eye.

We See a Lot, But Not Everything

To begin with, the world around us is full of beauty. We see trees swaying in the wind. We see stars lighting up the night sky. We see mountains, oceans, sunsets, and fields of tulips.

Likewise, we notice people smiling, elephants roaming the savannah, penguins waddling across the ice, and skyscrapers rising above busy cities.

Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ created all these things. He formed the natural world and established the laws that govern it. Every sunrise, every ocean tide, and every heartbeat reflects His creative power.

However, what we see is only part of reality.

The Invisible World Is Just as Real

At the same time, there are many things we cannot see.

For example, we cannot see the wind. Yet we watch trees bend and leaves dance. Likewise, we cannot see infrared light. Yet it still exists and affects our world.

In the same way, we cannot physically see the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet His presence transforms lives every day.

The Bible explains this clearly:

“For through Christ all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.”
— Colossians 1:16

Therefore, reality includes both the visible world and the unseen world. And when we understand this truth, our faith becomes stronger.

The Problem: We Often Focus Only on What We See

Unfortunately, many people struggle because they only trust what their senses confirm.

When life becomes difficult, they assume hope has disappeared. When circumstances look impossible, they conclude that change will never come.

Yet this way of thinking creates a serious problem.

Because what we see today is temporary.

Pain feels permanent, but it is not. Hardship feels endless, but it is not. Even the greatest struggles eventually pass.

The Bible reminds us of this powerful truth through the Apostle Paul.

A Story of Faith During Persecution

Long ago, the early believers in Corinth faced severe persecution. People hunted them because they believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah.

Some believers lost their homes. Others lost their freedom. And some even faced death.

Yet Paul wrote them a message of hope that still encourages us today.

He said:

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:18

In other words, Paul encouraged them to shift their focus.

Instead of staring at temporary suffering, they looked toward eternal promises.

Because of that perspective, they endured trials with courage and peace.

There Is More Beyond This Life

Therefore, the message of the Gospel is simple yet powerful.

This world is not the final destination.

The Lord Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself so that we could receive eternal life. Through His resurrection, He opened the door to a life that continues beyond death.

That means hope does not end at the grave. Instead, it begins with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, the Lord Jesus Christ promises an abundant life now and eternal life in heaven.

So while our physical eyes may not see everything yet, faith allows us to trust what the Lord Jesus Christ has already promised.

A Simple Example from Everyday Life

Consider a simple example.

Imagine a farmer planting seeds in a field. At first, nothing appears on the surface. The soil looks empty.

However, something powerful is happening underground.

Roots begin forming. Life begins growing. And eventually, green shoots break through the soil.

Likewise, the work of the Lord Jesus Christ often begins in the unseen places of life.

Faith grows quietly. Healing starts internally. Hope develops slowly.

Then suddenly, transformation becomes visible.

How to Fix Your Eyes on the Unseen

Fortunately, anyone can learn to focus on eternal truth rather than temporary problems.

Here are three simple ways to begin.

1. Spend Time in Scripture

First, read the Bible regularly. Scripture reveals the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ and strengthens faith.

2. Pray Honestly

Second, speak openly with the Lord Jesus Christ. Share fears, doubts, and hopes. Prayer shifts our attention toward His power.

3. Remember Eternal Perspective

Finally, remind yourself that every struggle has an expiration date. What feels overwhelming today will not last forever.

Final Encouragement: Choose What You Focus On

Ultimately, every person must choose where to fix their eyes.

You can focus only on what is visible. Or you can trust the eternal promises of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Everlasting Father.

Because although human eyes see only part of reality, faith reveals the rest.

And when you begin living with that perspective, you discover a powerful truth:

There is more beyond the here and now.

There is more hope.
There is more purpose.
And through the Lord Jesus Christ, there is more life waiting for you.
