Peace Be With You: You’ve Been Sent for a Purpose
When Jesus appeared to His disciples after the resurrection, He didn’t give a long speech.
Instead, He spoke straight to the heart. His first words were, “Peace be with you.”
That wasn’t just a greeting. It was a gift.
A Word of Peace in a World of Fear
The disciples were hiding. They feared for their lives. Everything they believed had been shaken.
Then suddenly, Jesus appeared alive.
Before anything else, He calmed their hearts. “Peace be with you,” He said (John 20:21).
Right then, fear turned to awe. Doubt turned to hope.
Jesus didn’t just bring peace. He was peace.
He stepped into their fear with presence and power. Then, without delay, He gave them a purpose.
Sent with a Mission
“As the Father has sent me, I am sending you,” Jesus continued.
That one sentence changed everything.
The same Jesus who walked among sinners, healed the hurting, and loved the outcast, now handed that mission to His followers.
And not just to them. To us.
You may think you’re not the “right” kind of person for this.
Maybe you feel unsure, unqualified, or too broken to be used by God.
But the truth is, Jesus doesn’t ask for perfection.
He asks for participation.
He knows your past and your flaws, but He still sends you with His peace and with His Spirit.
Your Story Still Matters
Let me tell you about Marcus. He works a night shift and barely has time for church.
He used to think he wasn’t doing enough for God.
But one day, his co-worker opened up about a tough divorce.
Marcus shared how Jesus helped him through his own pain.
That conversation led to more, and soon, they were praying together on breaks.
Marcus didn’t need a pulpit. He just needed to be present.
So do you.
God doesn’t need you to sound like a preacher. He needs you to sound like you.
Your voice, your accent, your culture, none of it disqualifies you. It’s what qualifies you to reach people only you can reach.
Jesus said, “I am sending you.” He didn’t mean only pastors, missionaries, or influencers.
He meant you. At home. At work. In your community.
Peace Is the Starting Line, Not the Finish Line
We often think peace is the goal. But with Jesus, peace is the beginning.
He gives peace so you can go, not stay.
He gives comfort so you can carry hope.
He breathes the Spirit into your life so you can breathe love into someone else’s.
The Christian mission doesn’t start on a stage. It starts where you are.
That means peace is not passive, it’s power.
Go With God’s Peace
You don’t have to go far to live sent.
Start in your own neighborhood. In your family. On your lunch break.
Text a friend. Listen to someone hurting. Pray before you speak.
You’ve been sent, not to be perfect, but to be present.
Just like Jesus was.

Final Thought
Jesus didn’t wait for His disciples to get it all together.
He met them in fear and sent them in peace.
That same peace is yours. That same mission is yours.
Wherever you are, you’ve been sent.
So take a deep breath. Remember who walks with you.
Then go—in your own way—with the peace and power of God.
