Perilous Times Are Here: Watching Prophecy Unfold Before Our Eyes
A Warning Spoken Long Ago
In the last days, perilous times were foretold to come. This was not a vague warning or a poetic exaggeration. Instead, it was a clear prophecy. It declared that people would become lovers of self, proud, boastful, and high-minded. It warned that pleasure would replace devotion to the Lord Jesus. Today, those words no longer feel distant. Instead, they feel painfully familiar.
Everywhere we look, projections and forecasts written in Scripture are unfolding in real time. As knowledge increases, wisdom decreases. As access to information grows, moral restraint weakens. Because of this shift, society is not becoming better. Instead, it is becoming more reckless, more hardened, and more defiant.
Knowledge Increased, Character Decreased
While knowledge has increased at an alarming rate, character has declined just as quickly. People now stop at nothing to satisfy ambition, desire, or pride. Truth is often sacrificed for convenience. Integrity is traded for influence. As a result, chaos rises where humility once stood.
At the same time, terror appears in high places. Violence, corruption, and deception are no longer hidden in dark corners. Instead, they operate openly and boldly. The prince of the power of the air actively inspires confusion and evil. The ruler of darkness deceives many, even those who believe they are spiritually secure.
Because deception feels comfortable, many do not resist it. Instead, they embrace it.
The Burden of False Prosperity
Under the banner of so-called prosperity, wicked leaders place heavy burdens on the people. They promise freedom but deliver control. They preach abundance but live detached from the suffering they create. While demanding sacrifice from others, they refuse to lift a finger to help.
Meanwhile, the gospel of peace and eternal life through the Lord Jesus is pushed aside. It is buried under distraction, entertainment, and religious performance. As a result, salvation is treated as optional instead of essential.
This neglect does not happen overnight. Instead, it happens slowly. One compromise leads to another. Eventually, truth becomes inconvenient.
Redefining Sin and Shifting Blame
Modern society has also redefined who a sinner is. Sin is now assigned only to the visibly broken. People from poor neighborhoods, prisons, or troubled backgrounds are labeled as the problem. Meanwhile, pride, greed, deception, and arrogance are celebrated when dressed in success.
Because of this mindset, prisons become the false symbol of safety. Society convinces itself that as long as criminals are locked away, righteousness remains intact. Yet corruption thrives far beyond prison walls. Sin does not live only in the ghetto. It lives in boardrooms, pulpits, governments, and homes.
When sin is misidentified, salvation loses its power. It becomes of no effect, not because the message is weak, but because hearts refuse to listen.
Watching Scripture Fulfilled
We are not guessing anymore. We are watching Scripture fulfilled before our eyes. The signs are clear. The warnings are loud. The question is no longer if these things are happening. The real question is where will they be fulfilled, in the world only, or in us personally?
Each person must answer that question honestly. Will we be shaped by deception, or will we be transformed by truth? Will we follow the crowd, or will we follow the Lord Jesus?
A Call to Personal Reflection
This message is not meant to create fear. Instead, it is meant to awaken discernment. The Lord Jesus still offers peace, forgiveness, and eternal life. However, that offer must be received personally. It cannot be outsourced to religion, culture, or tradition.
Perilous times demand sincere faith. They demand humility, repentance, and courage. Most of all, they demand a return to truth.
