Preparing for the Lord’s Return: Living Ready in Troubled Times
Wars and rumors of wars are not random headlines. Instead, they are signs. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself warned that such events would mark the last days. He said that when we see these things begin to come to pass, we should look up, for our redemption draws near.
Therefore, the troubled times we are living in today should not fill believers with fear. Rather, they should stir us to preparation. If you believe in the Rapture of the Church and the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ, then now is the time to prepare your heart and life.

The Signs of the Times
Throughout history, nations have risen against nations. However, the intensity and frequency of global conflict in our day remind us of the words of the Lord Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew 24. He warned that wars, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes would increase before His return.
These are not accidents. Instead, they are preparation markers. They signal that the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is closer than ever.
Because of this, believers must not become distracted by fear or politics. Rather, we must become focused on spiritual readiness.
The Promise of the One True Lord
There is only one Lord Jesus who made heaven and earth. In the Book of Isaiah 45:22, it is written, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” The promise is clear. Salvation comes through Him alone.
Moreover, the prophet Isaiah foretold that the Lord Himself would come. In Book of Isaiah 35 and 40, we read about a messenger preparing the way before Him. This prophecy was fulfilled when John the Baptist prepared the people for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, born from the tribe of Judah, the lineage of King David.
Then, as recorded in Gospel of John 1:10–12, “He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.” Israel rejected Him. Yet the door of salvation was opened to everyone who would believe.
To those who received Him, He gave power to become the sons of the Lord.
The Gospel Message: Salvation Through His Name
The Lord Jesus Christ tasted death for every person. Then He rose again in victory. Now He offers salvation through His name—the name above every other name.
According to the teaching found in Acts of the Apostles 2:38, we are called to:
-
Repent of our sins
-
Be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
-
Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
Through obedience to this gospel, we gain access to eternal life. Salvation is not merely a concept. Instead, it is an experience of transformation.
Because of this, preparation is not optional. It is essential.
What Does Preparation Look Like?
Preparation is both practical and spiritual. It involves operation and effective living. In other words, it is how we live daily.
1. Live Holy
First, we must separate ourselves from sin. Holiness is not legalism. Rather, it is love expressed through obedience.
2. Live Expectantly
Second, we must live with anticipation. If you knew the Lord Jesus was returning tomorrow, would anything in your life change? That question reveals much.
3. Stay Grounded in Scripture
Third, stay rooted in the Word. The Scriptures guide, correct, and strengthen us for the days ahead.
4. Share the Message
Finally, tell others. The door of acceptance remains open. Whoever will call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ can be saved.
