The Strategy: Attack the Bible, Confuse the People

The Subtle War Against Scripture: How Today’s Ideas Try to Discredit the Bible

Every generation faces the same spiritual battle. Yet today, the attacks look cleaner, smarter, and more “reasonable.” The Bible teaches that Satan’s main strategy is deception. He does not always roar. Instead, he whispers. And one of his greatest tactics is to discredit the Bible so people will reject God’s truth without even reading it.

Therefore, this article examines the contemporary ideas, teachings, and arguments that are influencing culture and drawing many away from Scripture. As we examine these beliefs, we will compare each one with what the Bible actually teaches. While doing so, we also learn how to stand firm in a world full of confusion.

The Strategy: Attack the Bible, Confuse the People

The Bible teaches that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. So the enemy tries to break that trust. Once people doubt the Bible, they will easily doubt Christ, salvation, sin, or judgment. Therefore, modern culture is filled with ideas that sound harmless but slowly remove the authority of Scripture.

1. “The Bible Is Not Historically Reliable.”

Many argue that the Bible is full of contradictions, missing texts, or historical gaps. They say it has been changed too many times.

But archaeology, manuscripts, and fulfilled prophecy repeatedly confirm biblical reliability. The Bible survives scrutiny because God preserved His Word.

Bible Response:
“All Scripture is God-breathed.” — 2 Timothy 3:16

2. “Truth Is Personal, Not Absolute”

Today’s world teaches:
“Live your truth.”
“What’s true for you may not be true for me.”

This mindset makes the Bible look outdated or narrow.

Yet Jesus said the opposite. Truth is not flexible. Truth is a Person.

Bible Response:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” — John 14:6

3. “Science Has Replaced God”

Some believe science has explained creation, morality, human life, and the universe. Therefore, they argue, the Bible is no longer needed.

Yet science explains how things work, not why they exist. Only God answers that.

Bible Response:
“The heavens declare the glory of God.” — Psalm 19:1

4. “The Bible Is Old and No Longer Relevant”

Many say the Bible worked for ancient cultures, but modern people have evolved beyond it. This argument tries to make Scripture look outdated.

However, human hearts have not changed. People still face fear, sin, guilt, hope, love, temptation, pride, and pain.

Bible Response:
“The word of God endures forever.” — 1 Peter 1:25

5. “Morality Should Evolve With Culture”

Culture now claims morality is based on feelings and acceptance. Right and wrong change with society.

That belief tries to replace God’s standards with human emotions. But Scripture teaches that God’s character, not public opinion, defines righteousness.

Bible Response:
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” — Isaiah 5:20

6. “All Religions Lead to God”

This idea sounds loving, but it removes the authority of the Bible. It denies the uniqueness of Jesus and the cross.

If all paths lead to God, then Jesus died for nothing.

Bible Response:
“There is no other name…by which we must be saved.” — Acts 4:12

7. “The Bible Is Harmful or Oppressive”

Some claim the Bible promotes hate, judgment, or restrictions. They say it encourages guilt.

But Scripture teaches freedom, restoration, and healing through Christ.

Bible Response:
“The truth will set you free.” — John 8:32

8. “Feelings Matter More Than Scripture”

Our culture often elevates emotions above God’s Word.

People say:
“I don’t feel like God would do that.”
“I can’t believe in a God who says that.”
“My heart tells me what is right.”

The Bible warns about this very thing.

Bible Response:
“The heart is deceitful.” — Jeremiah 17:9

9. “The Bible Conflicts With Modern Identity and Lifestyle”

Many reject Scripture because it challenges their choices. They treat personal desire as a higher authority.

But following Christ means surrendering our identity to Him.

Bible Response:
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself.” — Matthew 16:24

10. “Jesus Was Only a Good Teacher, Not God”

Some accept Jesus’ kindness but deny His divinity. This removes His authority and rejects the gospel entirely.

Jesus never gave people that option. He claimed to be God, Savior, Judge, and Lord.

Bible Response:
“In the beginning was the Word…and the Word was God.” — John 1:1

11. The Modern Debate: “Are the Jews Black?” and “Is God Black or White?”

This topic is becoming louder on social media, YouTube, and street preaching. Many claim all ancient Jews were Black. Others argue God Himself is Black. And some push the opposite idea—that God and all biblical characters were White.

Both extremes cause division. Both distract from the gospel. And both attempt to reshape Scripture into modern racial categories.

A Bible-Based Clarification

The Bible does not define God or the Jewish people by modern race terms such as “Black” or “White.” Those categories did not exist in Bible times.

Were some Jews darker-skinned?

Yes. Jews lived in the Middle East—sun-heavy regions with brown and olive complexions.
Some groups, such as Ethiopians and Egyptians, were clearly Black Africans and interacted with Israel often. Moses married a Cushite (Ethiopian) woman.
The Bible never hides this.

Were some Jews lighter-skinned?

Also yes. Jewish populations spread through Europe and Asia after centuries of exile, mixing with various groups.

The key biblical point:

Israel was, and is, a multi-toned ethnic group within one covenant family, not a racial category.
The idea that Jews must be only Black or only White is historically inaccurate and biblically unnecessary.

What About God’s Color?

This debate is even more misleading. God is not a physical being with skin color.

“God is Spirit.” — John 4:24

God is not Black.
God is not White.
God is not any human race.

The only time God revealed Himself in human form was in Jesus, and Jesus, as a Middle Eastern Jew, would have had brown skin like people from that region. But Jesus’ skin tone is never emphasized because salvation is for all nations, not one.

So why is this debate dangerous?

Because it shifts the focus from:
“Who is God?”
to
“What color is God?”

It replaces worship with identity politics. It replaces truth with racial pride or resentment. And it discredits the Bible by suggesting Scripture was “altered” to hide God’s real race.

The Bible’s real message about ethnicity:

  • All people were created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27).

  • God made one human family (Acts 17:26).

  • The gospel is for every tribe, language, people, and nation (Revelation 7:9).

  • Heaven is multi-ethnic, united under Christ, not divided by race.

Satan does not care what color people think God is.
He only cares that people stop seeing God as God.

Why This Matters

When the Bible loses authority, everything becomes unstable. Salvation, sin, purpose, marriage, identity, and eternity become blurry. People drift. They become confused. They search for truth everywhere except the one place where truth is guaranteed.

This is exactly the enemy’s plan.

How Christians Can Stand Firm

Here are simple but powerful steps:

  • Read the Bible daily

  • Test every belief against Scripture

  • Ask the Holy Spirit for discernment

  • Refuse to follow culture over Christ

  • Share the truth in love, not pride

  • Know why you believe what you believe

Truth stands firm when believers stand on the Word.

Conclusion: The Real Battle Is for the Mind

The war against the Bible is not new. It began in Genesis 3 when Satan asked Eve, “Did God really say…?”

He still asks the same question today, but with modern language.

However, God’s Word remains undefeated. It is reliable, relevant, and powerful. It is truth. It is life. It is the voice of God to humanity.

And those who build their lives on it will never be shaken
