Your Inheritance Awaits: Embracing the Gift of God’s Kingdom
Your Inheritance Awaits: Discover the Gift God Prepared Just for You
When You Feel Like You’re Not Enough
Well done, thou good and faithful servant. That is what I want to hear when I stand before Jeshua on the day of judgement. You try hard. You serve. You give. But deep down, maybe you still wonder if it’s ever enough?
If you’re tired of striving, you’re not alone. Many Christians silently carry this burden of performance, thinking they must earn God’s approval.
I know, because I’ve been there too. As someone who’s spent years ministering to families, I’ve heard the same quiet question echo again and again: “What if I’m not doing enough to please God?”
But here’s the truth: you don’t earn your way into God’s kingdom. You inherit it.
Today, let’s step into the stunning reality of what that means for your everyday life.
The Promise in Matthew 25:34
Jesus paints a beautiful picture in Matthew 25:34:
“Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.”
Right away, we see this is not a reward for effort. It’s not a prize for the “best Christian.” It’s an inheritance. And what is an inheritance?
It’s something you receive because you belong—not because you performed.
Think about this: An inheritance is passed down through relationship, not work.
God is not your boss He is your Father. And He’s offering you something He’s been preparing since before time began.
What Is Your Spiritual Inheritance?
This inheritance includes:
-
Eternal life with God
-
Full forgiveness of sins
-
Peace and joy in Christ
-
The Holy Spirit as your helper
-
A place in God’s family
Even better, this inheritance starts now.
You don’t have to wait for heaven to enjoy peace with God and a purpose for your life. It’s already yours through Jesus.
So Why Do We Keep Striving?
Let’s be honest. We’re used to working for approval. School taught us to earn grades. Jobs pay us for performance. Even in families, love can feel conditional.
But God’s love isn’t like that.
His kingdom isn’t for sale it’s gifted.
And when we forget this, we fall into anxiety, burnout, and fear.
Remember the older brother in the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15)? He thought his service would earn him more love. But he missed the point: he already had everything. He just needed to receive it.
Living Like You’re an Heir
Now that you know you’re not earning salvation, what changes?
First, you stop striving for approval. You rest in God’s love.
Then, you serve not out of guilt but out of joy.
You love others because you’re already loved.
You forgive because you’ve been forgiven.
You give because your Father gives abundantly.
And every time the enemy whispers, “You’re not enough,”
You answer, “That’s okay Jesus is.”
