The Story God Is Writing: Learning to Trust Him When Life Feels Unclear

Have you ever felt unsure about what God is doing in your life?
Have you ever trusted Him, yet still felt afraid, confused, or alone?
If so, you are not weak in faith. Instead, you are human.

As a Christian writer and Bible teacher, I have spent years studying Scripture and walking with believers who wrestle with the same questions. Therefore, today we will explore a powerful biblical story. We will learn how God works through uncertainty. And finally, we will discover how to trust the story God is writing in our own lives.

The Problem: Trusting God When the Story Feels Unfinished

Life often feels confusing.
Plans fall apart.
Answers seem delayed.
And faith can feel fragile.

As a result, many believers struggle with one question:
“Can I trust God when I don’t understand what He is doing?”

Thankfully, Scripture gives us an answer through the life of Mary.

Mary’s Story: Faith in the Middle of Uncertainty

Mary’s journey was not easy.
She was young.
She was unmarried.
And she was chosen to carry the Son of God.

Naturally, fear could have taken over.
Likewise, isolation could have crushed her spirit.
Yet instead, Mary chose faith.

Rather than walking alone, she went to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: God’s Reminder That We Are Not Alone

Elizabeth understood waiting.
For decades, she prayed for a child.
Year after year, nothing happened.

However, God never forgot her.
Eventually, He answered her prayers.

So when Mary arrived, something powerful occurred.
The baby in Elizabeth’s womb leapt.
The Holy Spirit filled her heart.
And she declared truth over Mary’s life.

“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!” – Luke 1:42

In that moment, God confirmed His plan.
Mary was not alone.
And neither are we.

Choosing Joy Before the Outcome Is Clear

Mary had just learned of her pregnancy.
She was not married yet.
Her future was uncertain.

Still, her response was worship.

“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” – Luke 1:46–47

She praised God before the miracle unfolded.
She trusted God before the answers came.
And she rejoiced while the story was still being written.

That choice changed everything.

Faith Grows in God-Centered Community

Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three months.
They talked.
They prayed.
They celebrated God’s promises together.

Faith grows faster in community.
Hope strengthens when shared.
And trust deepens when we walk together.

Therefore, if you feel discouraged today, do not isolate yourself.
Instead, seek godly voices.
Look for people who speak truth.
And allow God to remind you that His plan is bigger than your fear.

How Mary’s Story Applies to Your Life Today

Mary’s story is not just history.
It is instruction.
It is encouragement.
And it is an invitation.

God is writing a story in your life right now.
Even if it feels confusing.
Even if it feels slow.
Even if it feels painful.

Just like Mary, you can choose trust.
Just like Elizabeth, you can speak life.
And just like both women, you can rejoice before the outcome.
