Come and See, Go and Tell: Why Hearing the Good News Changes Everything

The Words You Hear Are Shaping Your Life

Right now, you are hearing many voices.
And because of that, those voices are shaping what you know.
Then, what you know is shaping what you believe.
And finally, what you believe is shaping how you live.

This is the pain point many Christians feel today.
We hear too much noise.
We hear fear, doubt, and confusion.
Yet, we hear less of God’s truth.

Because of that, faith weakens.
And when faith weakens, action slows.

However, Scripture gives us a clear solution.
God reminds us that faith grows by hearing His Word.

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”
— Romans 10:17 (NLT)

So today, we will focus on three simple movements.
First, we must come and see.
Next, we must listen and understand.
Finally, we must go and tell.

What You Hear Determines What You Believe

Every day begins with input.
And every input shapes the heart.

For example, when you wake up and scroll through bad news, fear grows.
But when you wake up and read God’s Word, hope grows.

Jesus understood this deeply.
That is why He often said, “Come and see.”

He invited people to walk with Him.
He invited them to listen.
And He invited them to understand truth firsthand.

Because of that, belief followed naturally.

Faith was never meant to be forced.
Instead, faith was meant to be heard.

“Come and See”: The Invitation of Jesus

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus never pressured people.
Instead, He invited them.

He said, “Come and see.”
And with those words, lives changed.

For instance, the disciples did not fully understand who Jesus was at first.
Yet, they followed anyway.
They listened.
They watched.
And they learned.

In the same way, God invites us today.
He invites us to open His Word.
He invites us to spend time with Him.
And He invites us to hear truth clearly.

Because of that, faith begins to grow.

Why “Going and Telling” Matters So Much

Eventually, coming and seeing must lead to action.
That is where “go and tell” begins.

The apostle Paul explains this clearly in Romans.

“For ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
But how can they call on him unless they believe in him?
And how can they believe unless they hear about him?
And how can they hear unless someone tells them?”
— Romans 10:13–14 (NLT)

This passage shows a simple truth.
Faith spreads through people.
And hope travels through voices.

Because of that, silence is costly.

Someone cannot believe if they never hear.
And someone cannot hear if no one speaks.

The Bad News We Must Understand First

To share good news, we must understand the bad news.
And the bad news is honest.

Every one of us has sinned.
And every sin separates us from God.

No effort fixes this.
No good work repairs this.
No religious habit bridges this gap.

That truth feels heavy.
Yet, it prepares the heart.

The Good News That Changes Everything

Now comes the good news.
And this is where hope rises.

God did what we could not do.
He stepped into history.
He put on flesh.
And He lived without sin.

Then, He died a criminal’s death.
Yet, He was innocent.

After that, He rose again.
And by doing so, He defeated death.

Because of that, salvation became a gift.
And because of that, grace became available to all.

This is why Scripture says:

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
— Romans 10:13 (NLT)

From Hearing to Believing to Living

Hearing leads to believing.
Believing leads to trusting.
And trusting leads to living differently.

For example, when you truly believe God forgives you, shame loses power.
And when you truly believe God loves you, fear fades.

Because of that, obedience becomes joyful.
And sharing becomes natural.

You don’t “sell” the Gospel.
Instead, you share what changed you.

How to Share the Good News Without Fear

Many believers feel stuck here.
They want to tell others.
Yet, fear stops them.

So here is a simple approach.

First, listen before you speak.
Next, share your story, not an argument.
Then, point to Jesus, not yourself.

For instance, you can say,
“Here’s what Jesus changed in my life.”

That sentence opens doors.
And God does the rest.

A Simple Prayer to Strengthen Your Faith

Right now, pause for a moment.

Thank God for His Word.
Thank Him for the Good News.
And ask Him for courage.

You might pray:

“Lord, help me hear Your truth clearly.
Strengthen my faith.
And show me who needs hope today.
Amen.”
