Psalm 27:14 (King James Version)”Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
What is Perplexing You?
What is troubling right now, why are you so nervous, what is making you feel that if you don’t hear from God or get a miracle today it is going be very bad for you? I know you feel like you are drowning in a sea of troubles, with no end in sight. Do me a favor, stop for a minute, and take a deep breath. Let us talk I understand you might not feel like talking right now but give me a couple of minutes of your time. If you don’t mind let us pray first before we talk. because Jesus said we must pray without ceasing, let us pray,
Lord Jesus our God, father, savior, and friend. You said we must always pray and not faint and that we must cast all our problems onto you. So right now lord Jesus I put my brother, my sister before you who is very troubled right now and is seeking a solution from you to solve their situation, and since you promised that you will never leave us or forsake us and that you will never give us more that we can bear and with every problem we face you have already made a way of escape. We are praying that you let your holy spirit intervene in our hearts right now and calm us down, speak to our hearts and minds, and reassure our spirit that everything is going to be alright. Thank you, lord Jesus, amen.
Is God Really There
Right now you might be asking “Is God really there?” Waiting on the Lord is one of the most challenging aspects of the Christian faith, but Psalm 27:14 offers a powerful reminder: “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
If you’re feeling spiritually exhausted, emotionally drained, or simply worn out by the waiting, this blog is for you. As someone who has walked through similar seasons, I want to share some practical encouragement and Biblical wisdom to help you navigate this time of uncertainty and find strength while you wait.
Is Waiting Difficult?
Why Is Waiting So Difficult? Waiting in today’s fast-paced world can feel like an unbearable task. We’re conditioned to expect instant answers and quick fixes—whether it’s through technology or simply by our modern-day lifestyles. However, God’s timing doesn’t operate on our schedule. His timeline is often about preparing us for greater things than we could imagine, but that waiting period can feel lonely, frustrating, and sometimes even hopeless.
Psalm 27:14 doesn’t just tell us to wait—it tells us to be of good courage while we wait. But what does that actually look like in our day-to-day struggles?
The Courage to Trust God’s Timing Trusting God’s timing requires more than just patience—it demands courage. Courage to surrender control, to stop trying to “fix” things ourselves and to fully trust that God’s plans are better than our own. This is not passive waiting but active faith. You may feel like nothing is happening, but in the stillness, God is working on your behalf. He is preparing your heart for the blessings to come.
Strength for the Heart: What to Do While You Wait
Lean into Prayer: Prayer isn’t just about asking God to change your circumstances; it’s about allowing Him to change your heart. Open your heart in prayer and ask for the courage and strength that Psalm 27:14 promises.
Meditate on Scripture: The Bible is filled with examples of people who had to wait—Abraham waited for Isaac, Joseph waited in prison, and even Jesus waited for the Father’s appointed time to fulfill His mission. Each of these stories reminds us that waiting on God is never wasted time.
Surround Yourself with Support: You are not meant to wait alone. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and walk alongside you. Share your burdens and allow others to uplift you during difficult times.
Refocus on God’s Character: When we’re in a season of waiting, it’s easy to lose sight of who God is. Remember that He is faithful, loving, and always has your best interest at heart. Reflecting on His past faithfulness can reignite your trust in His future plans.
Conclusion:
Strength in the Struggle The waiting period is not a time of punishment, but rather preparation. God is shaping you, strengthening you, and teaching you to rely on Him in deeper ways. Psalm 27:14 assures us that as we wait on the Lord, He will strengthen our hearts. So, take courage today—your waiting season has a purpose, and the blessings on the other side are worth it. Stay faithful, trust God’s timing, and let Him renew your strength as you continue to wait on Him.
