The Call of Every Christian: Why Sharing the Lord Jesus Christ Matters More Than Ever
Have You Ever Stayed Silent About Jesus?
Perhaps you felt the nudge in your heart. Maybe the conversation opened perfectly. Yet fear stepped in, and you stayed quiet.
Afterward, you probably replayed the moment in your mind. You may have thought, “I should have said something about the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Many Christians know that feeling.
However, the truth is simple. You are not alone, and you are not disqualified. In fact, the Lord Jesus Christ still wants to use you exactly where you are today.
For years, many believers have struggled with fear, rejection, and insecurity when it comes to Christian evangelism. Some think they are not smart enough. Others worry about saying the wrong thing. Meanwhile, many assume evangelism belongs only to pastors or missionaries.
Yet the Bible tells a different story.
The call to share the gospel belongs to every Christian.
Paul’s Powerful Picture of Evangelism
In 1 Corinthians 3:7, the apostle Paul the Apostle used a farming example that people in his culture understood immediately:
“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only the Lord Jesus Christ, who makes things grow.”
A farmer plants seeds. Another person waters them. Yet neither person can force growth to happen.
Similarly, Christian evangelism works the same way.
You and I are called to plant seeds by sharing the gospel message. We may water seeds through encouragement, kindness, and truth. However, the Holy Spirit is the One who changes hearts.
That truth removes enormous pressure.
You are not responsible for saving anyone. Instead, your responsibility is faithfulness.
Therefore, when you share the Lord Jesus Christ, success is not measured by someone’s response. Success comes through obedience.
Why Many Christians Stay Silent
Although many believers love the Lord Jesus Christ deeply, fear often keeps them quiet.
Some fear rejection.
Others fear awkward conversations.
Meanwhile, many Christians think they need perfect Bible knowledge before they can speak.
Yet none of those fears come from the Holy Spirit.
Consider the disciples. Before the resurrection, many were afraid and uncertain. However, after receiving the Holy Spirit, they spoke boldly about Jesus Christ everywhere they went.
Likewise, the same Holy Spirit lives in believers today.
Therefore, you do not have to depend on your own strength.
A Story Many Christians Understand
Imagine a man named David working at a local warehouse. Every day, he greeted the same coworker named Mike. They joked together during breaks and talked about sports regularly.
Yet Mike often looked exhausted and discouraged.
One afternoon, Mike quietly admitted his marriage was falling apart. David immediately felt the Holy Spirit urging him to speak about the Lord Jesus Christ.
At first, fear hit him hard.
“What if he thinks I’m strange?” David wondered.
Nevertheless, David simply said, “Can I pray for you? The Lord Jesus Christ helped me through hard seasons too.”
To David’s surprise, Mike said yes.
That short conversation opened the door to many more discussions about faith, hope, forgiveness, and eternal life.
David did not preach perfectly. He simply obeyed.
Likewise, many people around you are secretly searching for hope right now.
The Harvest Is Already Ready
The world often looks dark and hostile toward Christianity. However, many people are far more open than Christians realize.
People are tired of anxiety, confusion, loneliness, and emptiness.
Many are searching for purpose.
Others desperately want peace.
The good news of Jesus Christ answers those deep spiritual needs.
Therefore, your workplace becomes a mission field.
Your neighborhood becomes a mission field.
Even your family gatherings become opportunities for Christian discipleship and gospel conversations.
The Lord Jesus Christ placed you there for a reason.
You Are Never Alone
One of the greatest promises in Scripture appears in Matthew 28:20:
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Lord Jesus Christ never sends believers out alone.
Instead, the Holy Spirit guides conversations, gives wisdom, and provides courage in real time.
Sometimes you may only plant one small seed. Other times you may encourage someone already searching for truth.
Either way, the Holy Spirit works through your obedience.
Therefore, you can step forward confidently.
Simple Ways to Start Sharing Jesus
Christian evangelism does not always begin with a sermon. Often, it starts through ordinary moments.
Here are simple ways to begin:
1. Pray for Opportunities
First, ask the Lord Jesus Christ daily for open doors and courage.
2. Share Your Personal Story
Next, tell others how the Lord Jesus Christ changed your life personally.
People may argue theology. However, they cannot deny your testimony.
3. Ask Questions
Additionally, ask thoughtful questions like:
- “Do you ever think about eternity?”
- “Can I pray for you?”
- “Have you ever read the Bible?”
4. Show Genuine Love
Furthermore, kindness opens hearts faster than arguments.
5. Trust the Holy Spirit
Finally, remember you are not carrying this responsibility alone.
The Holy Spirit gives the right words at the right time.
The Problem Many Christians Face
Many believers wait for the “perfect moment” before sharing their faith.
Unfortunately, that moment rarely comes.
Fear grows stronger when Christians continue delaying obedience.
However, courage grows through action.
Even small steps matter.
One conversation can change someone’s eternity forever.
