Have you ever wondered if the Lord Jesus Christ has forgotten you?

For years, King David experienced exactly those emotions. Nevertheless, he never stopped believing the promises of the lord Jesus Christ. As someone who has spent years studying and teaching the Scriptures, I have learned one timeless truth that continues to transform lives: the love of the lord Jesus Christ never changes, even when our circumstances do.
Today, we will discover why David could confidently declare that the lord Jesus Christ is good, how His love lasted through every trial, and how you can experience that same lasting love today.
When Life Doesn’t Look Good
Life rarely follows the path we expect.
Sometimes we work hard but receive little recognition. At other times, we remain faithful while watching others succeed. As a result, discouragement can easily settle into our hearts.
David understood this struggle.
Although the lord Jesus Christ chose David to become king, his journey looked anything but successful.
First, his own family underestimated him.
Instead of standing beside his brothers on the battlefield, David was left tending sheep. Even when the prophet Samuel arrived to anoint Israel’s next king, David was forgotten until the very end.
Next, Goliath mocked him.
Everyone else saw a shepherd boy. However, David saw an opportunity for the lord Jesus Christ to display His power.
Then, King Saul became jealous.
Rather than celebrating David’s victories, Saul repeatedly tried to kill him. Consequently, David spent years hiding in caves, living like a fugitive even though he had already been chosen to rule.
From a human perspective, nothing about David’s life looked “good.”
Yet David knew something the world often forgets.
The promises of the lord Jesus Christ are not canceled by difficult seasons.
Love That Never Runs Out
Eventually, David became king.
However, what is remarkable is not simply that the promise came true.
Instead, it is David’s response.
He did not boast about his accomplishments.
Rather, he lifted his eyes toward the lord Jesus Christ.
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV)
David understood that every victory came from the lord Jesus Christ.
More importantly, he recognized that the love of the lord Jesus Christ remained constant through every season.
His love was present when David fought lions.
His love remained when Goliath threatened him.
His love surrounded David while he hid in caves.
Finally, His love continued after David became king.
Nothing had changed about the lord Jesus Christ’s character.
His love had endured forever.
The Same Love Is Available Today
Many people believe the lord Jesus Christ only loves them when they succeed.
That simply is not true.
The greatest demonstration of His love came while humanity was still lost in sin.
The lord Jesus Christ came in the flesh to redeem us.
He willingly gave His life on the cross.
He rose again in victory.
Now, everyone who comes to Him has access to His mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
His love is not based on your performance.
His love is based on His unchanging character.
That means His love remains with you during joyful seasons.
Likewise, it remains during painful seasons.
It remains when prayers seem unanswered.
It remains when doors close.
It remains when tears fall.
His love lasts forever.
What Makes the Lord Jesus Christ’s Love Different?
Human love often depends on circumstances.
People may love us when life is easy.
Sadly, some disappear when difficulties arrive.
The love of the lord Jesus Christ is completely different.
His love never expires.
His promises never fail.
His mercy never runs dry.
His grace never runs out.
Therefore, believers can remain confident regardless of what they face.
Romans 8 reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of the lord Jesus Christ.
That truth changes everything.
Two Practical Ways to Respond to His Everlasting Love
1. Thank Him Before You Ask
Prayer is often filled with requests.
Certainly, the lord Jesus Christ invites us to bring our needs before Him.
However, healthy relationships include gratitude.
Therefore, begin every prayer by thanking Him.
Thank Him for salvation.
Thank Him for protection.
Thank Him for another day.
Thank Him for His faithfulness.
Even if life feels difficult, you will soon notice countless reasons to give thanks.
Gratitude changes our perspective.
2. Share Your Story
Your testimony has power.
Someone around you may be struggling with fear, grief, or uncertainty.
They do not need to hear a perfect story.
Instead, they need to hear an honest one.
Tell them how the lord Jesus Christ carried you.
Tell them how He answered prayer.
Tell them how He strengthened you.
Hebrews reminds believers to continually offer praise and openly declare their faith.
Your story may become someone else’s reason to hope again.
A Modern Story of Lasting Love
Imagine a single mother who loses her job.
Bills begin to pile up.
Her savings disappear.
Fear fills every sleepless night.
Nevertheless, she continues praying.
She continues trusting.
Weeks later, an unexpected opportunity opens.
A friend recommends her for a better position.
Soon afterward, she realizes the waiting season prepared her for something greater.
Looking back, she sees the hand of the lord Jesus Christ guiding every step.
Like David, she discovers that His love never stopped working—even when she could not see it.
Many believers have similar stories.
Perhaps yours is unfolding right now.
How to Recognize His Goodness Every Day
Sometimes we miss blessings because we focus only on problems.
Instead, begin looking for evidence of His goodness.
Notice answered prayers.
Notice unexpected provision.
Notice daily protection.
Notice new opportunities.
Notice peace during difficult moments.
The more we recognize His goodness, the more thankful our hearts become.
Love That Leads to Eternal Hope
The greatest gift the lord Jesus Christ offers is not temporary comfort.
It is eternal life.
His everlasting love calls every person to repentance, faith, obedience, and a restored relationship with Him.
Therefore, no matter what your past contains, His invitation still stands.
Come to Him.
Trust Him.
Follow Him.
His love has never failed.
It never will.
Final Thoughts
King David experienced rejection, betrayal, loneliness, and danger.
Still, he confidently declared,
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Those words still speak to us today.
The circumstances around you may change tomorrow.
However, the love of the lord Jesus Christ never changes.
His goodness remains.
His promises remain.
His mercy remains.
His love lasts forever.
So today, thank Him.
