God of All Creation: Trusting the Lord Jesus Christ When the World Feels Uncertain
In a world filled with wars, political conflict, natural disasters, and uncertainty, it is easy to wonder whether anyone is truly in control. Nations rise and fall. Powerful leaders come and go. Families face unexpected hardships, and sometimes the future seems frightening.
Yet, there is a truth that can bring peace to your heart: the Lord Jesus Christ is the Creator and Ruler of all creation, and nothing is beyond His authority.
As a Christian writer sharing biblical encouragement through PossibilityPlus Living, I want to help you see beyond today’s troubles and discover the comfort of trusting the Lord Jesus Christ. In this article, we will explore what the Bible teaches about the Lord’s sovereignty, why suffering still exists, and how you can trust Him when life feels uncertain.
Ultimately, you do not have to understand everything happening in the world to put your faith in the One who rules over it all.
First, we must understand that the earth does not belong to human rulers, political systems, or powerful nations. Instead, all creation belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible declares in Psalm 24:1 (KJV):
“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
This powerful verse reminds us that everything belongs to the Lord. The land beneath our feet, the oceans that stretch across the earth, the stars in the sky, and every living creature are part of His creation.
Furthermore, Colossians 1:16–17 teaches that all things were created by Him and for Him, and that by Him all things consist.
As a result, the Lord Jesus Christ is not merely concerned with a small part of our lives. He is Lord over all creation.
Consider the beauty of a sunrise, the power of a thunderstorm, or the vastness of the night sky. These wonders remind us that creation is greater than anything human beings can build or control.
Therefore, when you feel overwhelmed by the problems around you, remember this essential truth: the One who created the universe is greater than the troubles you face today.
Why Does the World Seem So Uncertain?
Throughout history, powerful nations have risen, expanded their influence, and eventually declined. Kingdoms have fought wars, leaders have struggled for power, and ordinary people have often suffered the consequences.
Even today, headlines can leave us feeling anxious. We hear about conflicts between nations, economic difficulties, crime, and disasters. Meanwhile, we may also face personal challenges involving our health, relationships, employment, or finances.
Consequently, it is natural to ask, “If the Lord rules over everything, why does the world experience so much trouble?”
The Bible does not ignore this question. Instead, it teaches us that human beings have the ability to choose evil, disobey the Lord, and hurt one another.
James 1:13–14 explains that people can be drawn away by their own desires. In other words, we should not blame the Lord for every harmful decision people make.
The existence of suffering does not mean that the Lord has lost His authority. Rather, it reminds us that we live in a world where sin, injustice, and human choices have real consequences.
Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus Christ remains faithful. Even when we cannot understand the events unfolding around us, we can turn to Him for wisdom, strength, and peace.
Throughout history, people have placed their confidence in earthly powers. Some have trusted military strength, while others have depended on political leaders, wealth, or national influence.
However, Psalm 22:28 (KJV) reminds us:
“For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.”
This verse points us toward the Lord’s authority over the nations of the earth.
Earthly leaders may hold positions of influence, but they are not eternal. Governments change, borders shift, and political systems rise and fall. Meanwhile, the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ does not depend on human approval or political circumstances.
Daniel 2:21 declares that the Lord changes times and seasons and removes kings and sets up kings. This passage reminds us that human power is limited.
However, we must understand this truth carefully. The Lord’s sovereignty does not mean that every government decision is righteous or that every war reflects His approval. Human beings remain accountable for their actions.
Instead, we can trust that earthly powers cannot overturn the Lord’s ultimate purposes.
Therefore, rather than allowing the daily news to control our peace, we can pray for our leaders, seek justice, help those who suffer, and remain faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The world may change from one day to the next, but the Lord’s authority does not change.
Does the Lord Control Everything That Happens?
This question deserves careful thought because it affects how we understand suffering, faith, and the sovereignty of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible teaches that the Lord is sovereign over creation. However, it also shows that people make choices and must answer for their actions.
For example, when someone commits an act of violence, we should not excuse that person’s behavior by claiming that everything happens according to the Lord’s approval. Evil remains evil, and injustice must be confronted.
Likewise, when someone experiences grief, illness, or loss, we should not automatically claim to know why the Lord allowed it.
Instead, Scripture teaches us to trust the Lord even when we lack answers.
Romans 8:28 (KJV) offers this assurance:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
This verse does not say that everything we experience is good. Betrayal is painful. Death brings sorrow. Injustice causes real harm.
Rather, it assures believers that suffering does not have to be the final word in their lives. The Lord can work through difficult circumstances to bring spiritual growth, demonstrate His grace, and accomplish purposes that we may not fully understand.
For instance, imagine a family that experiences a sudden financial setback. At first, they may feel frightened and discouraged. Yet, through prayer, wise decisions, support from others, and renewed dependence on the Lord, they may discover strength and compassion they did not recognize before.
Their financial hardship was not necessarily good in itself. Nevertheless, they could find meaningful growth and help amid their struggle.
Therefore, trust does not require you to pretend that everything is fine. It means believing that the Lord Jesus Christ remains worthy of your faith even when life is not fine.
What Can We Learn From the Creator’s Power?
1. We Are Not the Ultimate Authority
First, we must recognize our limitations.
We cannot control every world event, prevent every hardship, or predict every change in our circumstances. Trying to manage everything can leave us exhausted and anxious.
However, we can choose how we respond. We can pray, act wisely, show kindness, and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV) encourages us to trust in the LORD with all our heart and acknowledge Him in all our ways.
Therefore, instead of carrying the burden of trying to control everything, surrender your worries to the Lord and faithfully do what you can today.
2. The Lord Deserves Our Gratitude
Second, remembering the Creator should lead us to gratitude.
Every day provides opportunities to recognize His goodness. We can thank Him for life, family, friendship, food, shelter, and the beauty of creation.
Even during difficult seasons, gratitude helps us remember that our problems do not tell the whole story of our lives.
For example, someone facing a challenging day may still find comfort in a friend’s encouragement, a meal shared with family, or a quiet moment in prayer.
These blessings do not erase hardship. Nevertheless, they remind us that we can recognize goodness even while facing challenges.
Psalm 107:1 (KJV) says:
“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
Consequently, make gratitude part of your daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. We Can Trust Him During Dark Times
Third, the Lord’s sovereignty gives us a reason to keep trusting Him when circumstances become difficult.
Faith does not mean that we never feel afraid. Nor does it mean that we never grieve or ask questions.
Instead, faith means bringing our fears, doubts, and burdens to the Lord rather than allowing them to separate us from Him.
Psalm 46:1 (KJV) declares:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
This verse reminds us that the Lord is a refuge in times of trouble.
When fear rises, pray. When you feel weak, seek His strength. When you do not know what to do, ask for wisdom and consider the next faithful step.
Above all, remember that you do not have to face every challenge alone.
The Lord Jesus Christ Is Working Beyond What We Can See
One of the hardest parts of faith is waiting when we cannot see the outcome.
We may pray for peace, yet conflict continues. We may ask for healing, yet the struggle remains. We may seek direction, yet the next step seems unclear.
During these seasons, it is easy to assume that nothing is happening.
Nevertheless, the Bible encourages us to look beyond what we can see with our natural eyes.
In Isaiah 55:8–9, the Lord reminds His people that His thoughts and ways are higher than theirs. This passage encourages humility. We do not possess the complete understanding of the Lord’s purposes.
However, we should not use this truth to claim that we know exactly what He is doing behind every tragedy or world event. Sometimes, we simply do not know why something has happened.
What we can know is that the Lord Jesus Christ is faithful, His Word gives us direction, and His promises give us hope.
Consider the story of Joseph in Genesis 37–50. His brothers betrayed him, and he endured years of hardship before his circumstances changed. Eventually, the Lord used Joseph’s position in Egypt to preserve many lives during a famine.
Joseph’s story does not mean every painful experience will end with the same earthly outcome. Instead, it reminds us that human wrongdoing cannot prevent the Lord from accomplishing His purposes.
Therefore, when you cannot see the whole picture, remain faithful to what the Lord has already shown you in His Word.
Continue praying. Continue doing what is right. Continue loving others. And continue trusting the Lord Jesus Christ.
One Day, the Lord Will Make All Things Right
Although the world is filled with suffering, the biblical message does not end in despair.
The Scriptures point toward a future in which the Lord will judge evil, bring justice, and establish a new heaven and a new earth.
Revelation 21:4 (KJV) gives this beautiful promise:
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
This promise gives Christians a reason to hope beyond present circumstances.
Today, we may witness injustice that seems to go unanswered. We may grieve the loss of loved ones. We may struggle to understand why innocent people suffer.
Nevertheless, Scripture directs our attention to the day when sorrow and death will no longer have the final word.
This hope does not encourage us to ignore the suffering of others. On the contrary, it calls us to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ now.
We can feed the hungry, comfort the grieving, stand against injustice, forgive when appropriate, and support people who are struggling.
In this way, we live as witnesses of the hope we profess while waiting for the Lord’s promised restoration.
The hope of the Christian is not that today’s world is free from suffering, but that the Lord Jesus Christ will ultimately triumph over evil and make all things new.
How to Trust the Lord When the World Feels Out of Control
Understanding the sovereignty of the Lord is important. However, we must also learn how to apply this truth to everyday life.
Here are five practical steps you can take.
Step 1: Begin Your Day With Prayer
First, bring your concerns to the Lord before the demands of the day overwhelm you.
Pray for wisdom, peace, protection, and the ability to respond to others with love. You can also pray for nations experiencing conflict and for families affected by suffering.
As Philippians 4:6–7 teaches, bring your requests to the Lord with prayer and thanksgiving.
Step 2: Spend Time in the Word
Next, allow Scripture to shape your perspective.
News reports often focus on danger, conflict, and uncertainty. Although staying informed can be helpful, constantly consuming distressing news may increase anxiety.
Balance what you hear from the world with what you learn from the Bible.
Read passages such as Psalm 46, Psalm 24, Isaiah 40, and John 16:33. Reflect on what they teach about the Lord’s power, faithfulness, and peace.
Step 3: Focus on What You Can Do Today
Rather than trying to solve every problem in the world, identify the responsibilities the Lord has placed before you.
Perhaps you can encourage someone who feels discouraged. Maybe you can help a neighbor, support a family member, or serve your community.
Small acts of faithfulness matter.
As Galatians 6:9 encourages us, we should not grow weary in doing good.
Step 4: Refuse to Let Fear Rule Your Decisions
Fear can cause us to make rushed decisions, assume the worst, or lose sight of our responsibilities.
Therefore, when fear rises, pause and pray. Consider the facts, seek wise counsel, and make decisions based on sound judgment rather than panic.
Trusting the Lord does not mean ignoring genuine dangers. It means facing them with faith, wisdom, and courage.
Step 5: Remember That You Are Part of His Creation
Finally, take time to appreciate the world around you.
Walk outside. Watch the sunrise. Listen to the birds. Look at the stars.
These simple moments can remind you of the beauty and wonder of creation.
Then thank the Lord Jesus Christ for the life He has given you and ask Him to help you use it well.
As you practice these steps, you can develop a steadier faith even when circumstances remain uncertain.

Final Thoughts: The Lord of All Creation Is Worthy of Your Trust
As we consider the rise and fall of nations, the struggles of humanity, and the wonders of the natural world, one truth stands firm: the Lord Jesus Christ is greater than anything we face.
We may not understand every event in history. We may not know why certain trials enter our lives. And we may not see the answers to every prayer during our lifetime.
Nevertheless, we can trust the One who created all things and holds all creation in His hands.
Therefore, do not allow the uncertainty of the world to steal your hope. Instead, strengthen your faith through prayer, study the Word, show compassion to others, and remain committed to doing what is right.
Remember that trusting the Lord does not mean you will never experience pain. It means you can turn to Him in the middle of your pain and find strength to continue.
Today, take a moment to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for His faithfulness. Ask Him to guide your decisions, strengthen your faith, and help you become a source of encouragement to others.
The world may be uncertain, but you can remain confident in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator and Ruler of all creation.
