Have You Ever Wondered If Anyone Truly Understands Your Pain?

Perhaps you have felt abandoned. Maybe you have experienced rejection. Sometimes life leaves deep wounds that seem impossible to heal. As a result, many people struggle to trust others. Even worse, some find it difficult to trust the Lord Jesus Christ because of painful experiences with earthly fathers.

Yet today, I want to remind you of a life-changing truth. The Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect Father. Furthermore, His love never fails, His compassion never runs dry, and His mercy is available every day.

As a Christian writer and Bible teacher, I have spent years studying Scripture and encouraging believers to deepen their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, in this article, we will explore what it means to have a good Father, why His love surpasses every earthly example, and how you can restore your childlike trust in Him.

Most importantly, you will discover that no matter where you have been or what you have done, the Lord Jesus Christ is waiting with open arms.

The Problem Many People Face

Unfortunately, not everyone had a loving father growing up.

Some fathers were absent. Others were harsh. Meanwhile, some simply did not know how to express love.

Consequently, many people project those experiences onto the Lord Jesus Christ. They assume He is distant, angry, or uninterested in their lives.

However, that belief could not be further from the truth.

The Bible paints a completely different picture. Instead of showing a distant ruler, Scripture reveals a loving Father who deeply cares for His children.

David wrote:

“The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.”

— Psalm 103:13

Therefore, when David wanted to describe the compassion of the Lord Jesus Christ, he chose the example of a good father.

That choice speaks volumes.

What Does a Good Father Do?

A good father meets the needs of his children.

First, when children are babies, a good father protects them. He feeds them, holds them, comforts them, and provides for them.

Next, when children grow, a good father teaches them right from wrong. He spends time with them. He encourages them. He corrects them when necessary.

Later, during the teenage years, a good father listens carefully. He guides wisely. He forgives generously. He empowers confidently.

In the same way, the Lord Jesus Christ cares for His children.

When we are weak, He strengthens us.

When we are confused, He guides us.

When we fail, He forgives us.

When we hurt, He comforts us.

As a result, we can confidently place our trust in Him.

The Lord Jesus Christ Gives Good Gifts

Sometimes people wonder whether the Lord Jesus Christ truly cares about their needs.

Thankfully, Jesus answered that question clearly.

He said:

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

— Matthew 7:9-11

Notice the comparison.

Earthly fathers, despite their imperfections, often desire the best for their children.

Therefore, if imperfect fathers can show kindness, how much more can the perfect Father show love and generosity?

The answer is simple.

His love exceeds anything we can imagine.

A Story of Restoration

Several years ago, a young man walked away from his faith.

Because his earthly father abandoned the family, he believed every father would eventually leave.

Consequently, he assumed the Lord Jesus Christ would abandon him too.

For years, he carried bitterness and disappointment.

Then one day, while reading the story of the prodigal son, something changed.

He realized the father in the story was waiting, watching, and hoping for his son’s return.

Immediately, he saw the heart of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rather than condemning him, the Lord Jesus Christ was calling him home.

As a result, he returned to faith and experienced peace he had never known before.

Likewise, many people today need that same revelation.

The Lord Jesus Christ is not waiting to reject you.

Instead, He is waiting to restore you.

What the Lord Jesus Christ Wants for You

If You’re Lost

The Lord Jesus Christ wants to guide you toward truth and life.

Therefore, you do not have to wander alone.

If You’ve Messed Up

The Lord Jesus Christ wants you to experience His mercy.

After all, His forgiveness is greater than your failures.

If You’re Heartbroken

The Lord Jesus Christ wants to comfort you.

Moreover, He understands every tear and every burden.

If You’re Defeated

The Lord Jesus Christ wants to remind you who you are.

You are His child.

You are loved.

You are valued.

You are not forgotten.

Remember Who You Are

The Apostle John wrote:

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

— 1 John 3:1

What an incredible promise.

Notice that John did not say we might become children someday.

Instead, he declared that we are His children.

Therefore, your identity is not found in your past mistakes.

Likewise, your worth is not determined by other people’s opinions.

Rather, your identity is found in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

That truth changes everything.

How to Restore Childlike Trust

If you have built walls around your heart, consider these practical steps:

1. Be Honest in Prayer

First, tell the Lord Jesus Christ exactly how you feel.

After all, He already knows your heart.

2. Read His Promises Daily

Next, spend time reading Scripture.

Consequently, your faith will grow stronger.

3. Let Go of Old Lies

Stop believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is distant or uncaring.

Instead, replace those lies with biblical truth.

4. Remember His Faithfulness

Finally, reflect on the ways He has already helped you.

As a result, trust will begin to grow again.
